Cecil was a popular Lion

This tragic event happens monthly if not weekly in Africa.

damn disgraceful that social media is all up & arms over Cecil when hundreds are killed in this exact same way.

Less than 30 000 Lions left in the wild... people should wake the puck up!

It was mentioned that he should be extradited to the U.S. to face charges. I don't know if that is even possible, but if it is I hope it does not happen.

Spend a few years in a African prison. Let see how well his ego and false bravado serve him there.

Because after all, that's all these hunts are about.

That would be a crying shame, tried in the US and paroled in 6 months?
let him fester in Zimbabwe jail for 15 years. Make him the poacher poster child for crimes against the planet with yearly pictures to document his misery. I'm not a nice guy when it comes to chit like this sorry.

He didn't suffer because it was intended, he instinctively ran away from a poorly placed shot. Almost all animals do this to include normal large game

While I totally agree with you a poorly placed shot into a large game animal will cause them to bolt. What I am total disagreeance with is the fact it took the animal 40 hours to die.. I have been on many big game hunts of Moose, Brown bear... I have never seen one last 40 hours before it was tracked down and put out of its misery...

The Longest I have ever seen was 12 hours and when we finally tracked the animal through the indian celery and thickets the said animal had been dead for several hours.

40 hours is not acceptable for any animal to suffer.

Thats just pure cruelty!! That guy needs to be sent to prison for a very long time for committing such an atrocious crime. Poor Cecil.

It seems he is also being investigated for illegally shooting a bear in MN. and he has some other scraps with the game officials

If I was working in his dental office now, I would be spending my time looking for a new job. If and when this guy gets back I am sure he will have zero patients left.
