to defund plan parenthood ... plan parenthood is essential to many young ladies and women in the USA ... taking this away is like taking the right to vote away ... is a matter of choice ... and everyone should have this choice ... I know many clinics have been shut down already to undermining the freedom of women ... and their own health ... and plan parent hood is not all about abortions ... young girls and women need a place to be able to talk to someone about birth control an do I keep this child and put it up for adoption or raise myself ... this place is greatly needed and not just for abortions ... who do women have to go to if they do not want their family doctor to know ... or get the help with finding a decent doctor who accept their INS ...when some do not ... & when some are not willing to ... I know this has a lot to do with a faith base... but all women need a place to go and feel comfortable with talking to a professional about her health needs ... and not be judged ... and this is what plan parenthood does also... I would like to to see plan parenthood help women and young women ... with the choices ... not someone of faith coming down on them and judging them when they will be judged in the end... some of what the faith base say ... it should be every women's right to choose ... and to have a safe place to go ... and not feel threatened and shamed ... I would hope they will do the right thing ...for these women and not try and defund them ... & making life more difficult for them... when they are under so much stress as it it ... as some would say have a heart ...

Defunding is a bad plan. They need to clean it up a little more oversight and transparency would help.

This is unfortunately typical of the current members of Congress. As soon as some incident occurs which they think or hope will upset everyone enough, they follow their long standing hatreds, prejudices, and revenge goals, and try to get back at someone on their now ancient "enemies list."

It's how we have ended up with a number of very bad laws recently.

If anyone actually read the ACA they'll notice that pretty much everything that planned parenthood does, is now mandatory as minimum insurance coverages and available through medicare.
Contraception, cancer and HIV screening, counseling, reproductive health.
Everything but abortion, technically, although that's not all that clear anymore.

It's like you're saying "the government de-funding horse and horse trail maintenance is taking the right to vote away! It's a matter of transportation choice!" All while government money is going to trains, planes, public transportation, and the street and highway systems, cash for clunkers, and auto loans.


So...we're funding life councilors for stupid women?

You lost that choice along with every other American when the decision was made for you by adopting the ACA.

That's the law now.

By funding planned parenthood you are now paying at least twice for the same thing.

De funding should have happened the moment the ACA passed.

The govt doesn't know how to fix or manage anything, much less human behavior!

All they know is control!

They create need, then take control of that need by regulation, restriction, or taxation, creating more problems, requiring more regulation, restriction and taxation to fund it.

In the end it's our rights and privacy that suffer and nothing is ever fixed..... just another problem created to start the whole process over again!
