I read the profile. But sometimes I will still ask what the person is looking for. The reason I ask is because the profile usually just skims the top of who the person is. So if I ask it's because I want to know more.
I've been hearing the gripe about men not reading profiles for years. But here is the things I notice about women's profiles. Most of them are not as detailed as some believe. A lot of them are at the most very vague. Some seem to think that a one or two sentence profile is good enough.
A lot of them seem to say the same thing. I would say that at least 90% of them lead off with one of the biggest turnoffs a man can read, "My kids are my world." letting the man know right quick where he's going to fall in the pecking order. Another one is bragging about their job. Which is another turnoff. At least for me.
On this site, I've been here off and on since 2012. On this site, I see the most blank profiles. Women don't seem to have much to say about themselves. With the exception of one thing, "Ask me" or "Hi" I don't know about other guys. But to me is another turnoff. I also see a lot of, "If you don't have a car or a house, Don't bother to write me." I understand why women put things like this in their profiles.
But some things are better left unsaid. For a lot of guys, it's a turn off to read such as this. Even though a lot guys may understand why you write this, it still sends out the vibe, "golddigger." Which will send a lot of guys packing.
Anyway, I know I'm a little off track here. But at the same time, women gripe about men not reading profiles. With the things I see written in a lot of women's profiles, If it wasn't for the empty headed ones writing, a lot of women wouldn't have anyone writing them.
