Well, I can't speak for what "most" men do, but I'll admit that guys might be less likely to actually read profiles.
But from the almost-daily "MutualMatches" I've been getting, a lot of women don't read profiles, either. (Or maybe they're just scammers.)
I'm now on a second page of "matches," and all those blonde 26-year-olds from California are messing up my game of "collecting" all fifty states. bigsmile

So those of us who want to know if there are shared interests, etc. will continue to read the profiles. I mean, if you don't see a real potential match there, why waste time and electrons contacting someone, or even just blindly clicking the "Match with Him/Her" button?

I guess the people (both genders) who don't read profiles will just continue with their "to whom it may concern" ways. As Bruce Hornsby said, "That's just the way it is." {shrugs}

Well some of the ladies profiles these days state....."I'll tell ya later". So to a point I do read them. Pulitzer stuff there. :thumbsup:

I take someone not reading my profile as a red flag that this person is either a scammer or a player and simply ignore them.

So far there are 18 pages of men in this thread saying they read profiles to some degree or the other. For those of you who keep saying they don't, "There is your sign."

I think for a lot of women they don't understand the male mind. It's programmed from conception for the man to pursue what he is interested in. You may have in your profile that you are not interested in men of a certain age. Some men will try to pursue you anyway. To men, no matter what you have in your profile, Some will pursue you anyway. Because that's what a man is suppose to do.

But now, this isn't concrete for every man. Some men, well, are like me. They don't care. They realize that there are a blue million of you out there. If one doesn't want you, go get another. Women are everywhere. And still being made to this very second as I write this. Men like me will try to pursue you. But, men like us, we don't have to be beat over the head to get us to move on.

So when you get upset over this guy who seems to have not read your profile, Maybe he didn't. But then again, it could be that he is just being a man. Men, for the most part, will try hitting on you anyway. It's what we do. We can't help it. If men didn't go ahead and try anyway, It wouldn't be too many more years till "man" as a whole wouldn't exist anymore. It's programmed into a woman from conception to be pursued. If men just stopped pursuing women altogether, Hum?

Amen to that.I allway's ask anyone who messages me if they have read my profile and if they say no,I refer them to it before having a conversation.What creep's me out is when someone has viewed your profile 11 time's and still say's nothing. huh

I do. I got 6 kids. All girls. Im not having another. If she has non. At some point she will. Not guna work. That type stuff.

What about those of us who don't have kids, love kids but can't have them? Have you written us off automatically? That seems a bit mean!

I don't write off a guy just coz he has kids or hasn't. If he has kids I would welcome the chance to be a part of their family if things get that far. If he says in his profile he is ready to settle down and start a family then yes, I will think twice before contacting him as I cannot offer what he wants and there is no point in wasting his time. If he definitely doesn't want kids then I wonder why not, but it wouldn't stop me contacting him if everything else was compatible.

It also gets tricky deciding at what point to bring up the subject of kids aren't mentioned in profiles, but I tend to play that one by ear.

I'd hate to think anyone hadn't contacted me because they presume I'm at that broody stage and they don't want any/anymore kids.

No, 90% of them don't. Considering most of the messages I get are,
"Hey baby/sexy/honey, are you looking for open minded fun?"

Now if they actually took time to read my profile - they would know, that no - I am not.

What part of "looking for new friends" translates to "I want to **** you?"

Get a clue guys. Read a profile before sending unwanted messages.

Your ignorance is your bliss. With your hateful sounding attitude I sure you will eventually find a man. No lecture. Just the truth. And remember, this is an open forum for me and others to say what they believe is the truth. If you don't like what someone says, including me, you can keep that thought to yourself. I'm sure, as far as that is concerned, No one is interested in knowing it.

I always read a profile on a weekday
when sun is in line with the full moon.

I think most of us guys read profile but a lot just don't care they gonna be a dog anyways and others probably feel the only way to get any reaction at all is to say something stupid.

I have a hard time cause I'm not a dog ling for sex and hey how are you never seems to work with you women.

Not all guys are closed minded idiots. I'm not going to sit here and put other men down just so I can look higher. When guys do that, they're just making it obvious of their conspicuous "L" on their forehead. I do read what you have to say, because it gives an idea of what's inside your heart, and alot of guys do the same. Not all, granted, but some none the less. I (think) I understand the point you're trying to make. Some women have different views of "hook ups" as you say. You want a real relationship with a man that pays attention to you and values your opinion, not be used as a human condom. Question is my friend, can you reciprocate the attention and respect?
