I read a whole profile. Often I read and think, ok that's a nice picture, we have things in common, we don't live too far apart. Then I will read something like, need a god fearing woman, or a very strong woman. I know that is not me, so I move on. I don't want to be something I am not.

I still dont get why this^^^^ and a few other woman that are on here are single, or even need a dating site. I would drive a 1000 miles just to have a coffee with them the right gal,,,,,,just saying

There are women who are insecure, nasty and chronically negative. It translates into their relationships as well.

I know what you mean by men saying they want to meet over coffee and some come from like another country away. The god fearing folk usually want you to marry them by the end of the week, then there are others who just want fun.. um profile says relationship. I am sorry but I have age ranges on my site however some men still get up set when I don't answer back yet they claimed reading my profile...... so frustrating.

LOL! Well in my online "socializing/dating" experience SOME do, Some don't and SOME just look at the pictures, perhaps get an erection and THEN they will ASSume a lot of things within their FIRST icebreaker message to ME...LOL!

I read their profiles to get a better "feel" of WHO the man is and whether or not said man would be compatible or even OPEN to my needs the kind of relationship that I am interested in.

Of course, most don't have well-thought out or well-typed out profiles and if that's the case then I just won't bother with sending those men a message. My icebreaker messages are pretty short and sweet as I usually expect no response back from said man any way ...LOL!

OK, I am just looking at the dating pool. My profile is perhaps rather negative, in that I am NOT looking to 'hookup' - just viewing the pool candidates..
The comments of emails I receive, it is pretty obvious to me that my profile is NOT being read at all, as the comments in their emails reference what a nice profile it is, etc... are you kidding me?did you read it???
Or are they just MANREADING it?
Manreading - look at the pictures and carry on anyway..
Hints about scammers would be appreciated..

Isn't there (I should know) a place in the profile that indicates maximum distance and age range? I always look at the profile and when I see a match request from a 20-40 year old I immediately think "SCAM".

The rest is just info and has no hidden meaning.

I live in Mexico most of my neighbors are from Canada and 3 are from Calgary area. That is one heck of a long way to travel for coffee. This area is really a big Snowbird area. Lots of folks from cold climates come down in the winter and those from hot climates come in the summer. We don't have those seasons. It is pretty much spring time all year round.

I get stuff like that from women in Africa, India, and God Himself knows wyhere else. I really think they are scam scanners.

When someone smiles and says hello in the real world to me it is a natural thing to smile and say hello doesn't mean I am stopping what I am doing I am responding with manners.

Next time I go sit at the bar to watch a game or something.. and have a lunch.. If I catch a guy's eye, if I smile, is he going to think I am 'coming onto him'?
or is it just manners ?
I think I will start a new thread/topic about that..

I believe that "real men" do read profiles...but what we are mostly seeing is the bots or scammers.

And what can be said about women??
Generally when I have started a conversation... the second or third question... always is... "where are you from?" or "what do you do for living?"
Excuse me!!!... even though when my profile is not too explicative... that information certainly is in there!!!

So manreading (hahahahaha... I like the way she said it) ... can also be womanreading... finally... regardless whether they are women or men... it�s the same for everyone!!!

Coz many people pm me and ask me things that I've already covered in my profile
It's a kinda turn off actually, coz u wanna get to know me but ure not bothered to do some research?

No, I am pretty sure most of the men messaging me have never bothered to read my profile. Just about everything they initially ask is there if they had read it.
