If they know the sex and know it is a girl, many people will terminate the pregnancy.. and try again.. and again until they get that boy.

They told me this matter of factly, as I just stared at them in disbelief.

My translator whispered to me that many doctors.. if you give them money.. will tell you.

And that is one reason the male to female rate here in China is soo lop sided

But marrying a china gal is not cheap, high dowery.. so giving birth to a gal should have more benefits!!

Yes.. indeed we have. Woman not getting married and have children, etc.. So the government welcome foreigners to become citizens but unfortunately the recent incoming foreigners quality is getting bad.. alot of noise made by the people.

We are in a very tricky position...

AND Studies shown that Subsidies given for young couples are not able to sustain the high cost living here in singapore. School fees.. tuition.. extra ciriculum.. childcare..etc.

But my personnel point of view.. i think most people are living beyond their means.

No, I didn't ask. But here everything is controlled by the government. To the best of my knowledge there is no entity in place other then answering to them if you are caught.

But by the pitch of the "ohhh.no.no.no." that I heard, that seems to be enough

Yeah, for the ones who make the cut. I think the ratio is like 4 males to every female.

And the women ARE picky.. they can be. they want the best they can get, which has lead to a bzillion regular " Joe Shmoe" Chinese guys with basically no chance to find a girl friend or wife. The male factory workers and laborer type have a almost zero chance of attracting a mate. It is a big social problem here which has lead to many very depressed guys.

During one recent prostitution raid one of the customers ( a young guy) was asked "why?.. he said. " well, where else can I touch a woman's hair or face or kiss a woman.

Pretty sad.

Sad but guys are crazy to even willing to pay such a high price.. all these is because of 'face'!
If the guys or family couldn't afford to buy an apartment then there's extremely low chances of finding a bride..

On the other hand Most woman in china don't work.. they are seeking for opportunities. Foreigners will be their first target so the remaining chinese guys will have even tougher competition.
