Moscow, Sept. 7 (Prensa Latina) By order of the supreme commander in chief of the Armed Forces of Russia, President Vladimir Putin, the Defense Ministry launched today a surprise inspection of the troops of the Central Military District.
Transmitting the order at a meeting with senior officials at the National Center for Defense Control, the minister, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu, said that during the exercise the new organization for wartime in the inspected military zone will be assessed.
The new concept includes control of the preparation of some ministries, agencies and territorial administrations to operate during a war, said the Prime Minister, as per the First Channel of the television.
At the meeting, Shoigu instructed the army chief Oleg Salyukov to plan and conduct during the surprise inspection an operational maneuver of the forces of the Central Military District and the Airborne troops.
The order includes also monitoring the preparation of major units of combined forces to operate during the exercise.
According to the assigned mission, the troops of the District, part of the Air Forces of other Commands, of the Airborne Troops and of the Military Transport Aviation declared themselves on high alert from 0930 Moscow time on Monday, as per reports.
The surprise inspection will extend from September 7th to 12th, said the Army General, and at that stage they will be review the preparation for wartime of some ministries, agencies and administrations of four regions, he said.
He said that among those administrations are the Ministries of Health, Agriculture, Industry and Commerce, Medical and Biological Federal Agencies, the Agency of Fishing, of the State Reserve, and the administrations of Bashkiria, Novosibirsk, Samara and Chelyabinsk.
It is necessary to work on the issues of planning and organization of interdepartmental cooperation, the practical implementation of the tasks of mobilization and territorial defense missions along with the federal authorities, the minister said.
