The only one of the original, fact based claims made in the original post which I am suspicious of, is the estimation of the cost of the Gulf Wars. We are still paying for them, for one thing, and more importantly, putting a single number on the cost of a war isn't really all that easy to do to begin with.
Simply because so many of the genuine expenses of a war, are subject to political manipulation, and/or are matters for debate as to whether they actually are due to the given war or not.
Finally, secondary costs of wars are all but immeasurable. The cost of a given piece of war-making material can be determined, but almost nothing else can be.
