To an average person...yes that can look like a bomb. I wouldn't have had a clue and would have called it in too.

Plain and simple...those idiots don't deserve a dime

The lawsuit is frivolous agreed, how did this even hit the news channels

Oh and btw, all this family wishes, is to return to Irving, I wonder what's stopping them?

I don't care where they go. Who says they want to come back any way? That might be what they said but they chose to leave and I don't think they are banned from Irving. He got a scholarship in Qatar.

Well sweet pea...read what I said. Nobody kicked their butts out. I haven't seen anything about them not being allowed to return. The kid's parents let him do something stupid. I actually blame the parents. Any kid would have been treated the same. In these times, people are extra cautious.

They CHOSE to leave (of course after visiting the White House). The kid got a scholarship in Qatar, where they CHOSE to move to. Now they want money or else and whining about poor pitiful them just want to come back. It was their decision to leave

Damages? The little germ became a celebrity, a darling of the left. (Meaning the "useful eejits" who couldn't see it as a probable ploy cooked up by one or both parents.)

Hmm. If I would've been the teacher, I would have looked at it & seen a timing mechanism/electronics, but NOTHING that even remotely resembled any type of explosive material, so I would have checked it out as a potentially-interesting electronics project, & talked with him about it. HONESTLY, it wasn't especially awesome, he probably just built a basic system around a 555 timer chip, which handles most of the work all by itself internally. (But hell, for a KID, that's doing pretty good.)

HOWEVER - if he would've had a couple wires going into a block of something that looked like Silly Putty (even as a gag!), I probably would've had a pretty extreme reaction...
