MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Black Lives Matter protesters will return to Mall of America next week *TOMORROW* unless they “get #Justice4Jamar”, group organizers announced Thursday.
The protest, according to the group, is scheduled for Wednesday at 1 p.m.
Last year, the protest at MOA drew more than 2,000 people to the mall on Dec. 20, 2014.

“A year after our first Mall of America action, we have not seen nearly enough progress in our state,” the group wrote on the Facebook event. “Last month, Jamar Clark, a young black man was shot in the head by police while handcuffed according to witness testimony, prompting an 18 day occupation of the 4th Precinct that was bulldozed by police.”
According to the group, its demands are as follows: release the tapes of Clark’s killing, prosecute the police in involved without a grand jury by a special prosecutor, federal domestic terrorism charges against the men who shot at five protestors, institute a safety plan to protect community from police violence and “disinvest from Police and reinvest in Black futures.”
“Jamar’s family deserves justice this Christmas, and until they get it, there will be no peace,” the group said.

An eighth grade choir concert that was set to take place at the same time and place as a Black Lives Matter protest has been canceled, according to the Minnetonka School District.
Minnetonka Middle School West’s eighth grade choir concert was scheduled to take place Dec. 23 at the mall’s east rotunda. The protest is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. at the same rotunda, according to a Facebook event created by Black Lives Matter Minneapolis.
The school district said the school’s principal and other school administrators made the decision to cancel the concert, adding that kids singing holiday songs while protesters have a serious message to convey would not be a good idea.
A letter addressed to four Black Lives Matter organizers from the Mall of America was posted on Black Lives Matter Minneapolis' Facebook page. The letter said that anyone who comes to the mall to participate in the "unauthorized demonstration" will be removed from the property and potentially arrested.
"We want to make it clear to the public that we will not be intimidated, and we will not be silenced," Black Lives Matter Minneapolis said in response to the letter on their Facebook page.
Black Lives Matter previously protested at the Mall of America Dec. 20, 2014. Dozens of people were charged, but the charges against the protest's 11 organizers were dropped.
