It's Stolen Valor regardless what the Idiots call it!
Next time I see any kids trick or treating dressed up as policemen, or soldiers, or even firemen, I'll make sure to cause them to feel horrible for stealing valor.
Next time I see a movie where an actor is dressed up in a military uniform with all sorts of medals, decorations, and ribbons, I'll make sure to write a nasty note to Hollywood decrying them.
I'll be especially harsh if it's not a biopic.
I don't see any trick or treaters wearing Medals of honor or purple hearts.
But if they are trying to pass them selves off as a service member and getting the free perks that come with it, that is fraud.
no, its not
fraud would be showing a fake military ID to receive military discounts
lying about your accomplishments in the service to someone who then gives you something free without ASKING for military id,, is just naivety and run of the mill lying,,
Really? Go to You tube and type in Don Shipley. He investigates Stolen Valor and False Seals claims. He explains what it is very well. He does investigations for major companies like the Mirage who give veterans special privilege's like the Dolphin experience.
That here in Nevada there is also a law called defrauding an innkeeper and this would qualify for that as well if your getting services from a business and you don't pay for them by theft or fraud.
this appears to be a revised version signed into law by OBAMA in 2013, previously it wasn't so
and I believe the previous bill was more constitutional,,,because I agree that people choosing to believe a lie ,, if its not HARMFUL to their person or neglectful of their rights,
is their problem
