Harmony, I beg to differ. Law abiding citizens hold the responsibility of keeping their arms safe. These child shootings are proof, that when criminals want to commit crime, the will get a gun, even in Canada.
Please don't put words in my mouth, I'm quite capable of speaking for myself thank you. I belive in all the laws that govern our second amendment rights. Gun control aims to remove all guns, like in Canada. You feel better that only criminals can get guns? I realize there is no changing your mind or mine. Then again I'm a Texan

Crime rate has to do with the social fabric or social net being insufficient. Health care is just a higher level of this. First nation countries are very lucky to have this social base to lower crime.

Years ago I tried to lock the house doors and found them to be rusted. WD 40 fixed the problem! Will they still lock, I have no idea?? Why would I ever need to lock a door. If I'm not home, there is insurance. Do people lock car doors as well??
** So you can understand when I hear some peoples "gun talk". I just relate to them hunting squirrels or they have squirrels in the attic
** Squirrel
Food historians confirm squirrel, along with other small scampery rodentia-type game, played an integral role as human food from prehistory to present. Readily available, easily caught, economically feasible, tasty & versatile. Tastes like chicken.
Native dwellers, European settlers, foraging pioneers, and established frontiersmen often relied on the daily "shoot" to provide meat for meals. This might explain why squirrel recipes were not typically featured in period cookbooks. We also find references to squirrel as a substitute for preferred cuts in certain recipes, including stew. In the USA two celebrated examples of squirrel-based food are Brunswick Stew & Kentucky Burgoo. Big socio-political feeds featuring local game make perfect sense in this particular context.
