Alaskan Malamutes. Have had 3, either given to me or shelter dog. Smart, loyal. Highly under rated.

Labradors, Had my girl for 15 years and she went to sleep on day and never woke up again. I love training them too for hunt test, field trials and of course duck and goose hunting.

Akita / Shepard.. from parents of " questionable" backgrounds... otherwise known as a ... mutt

He gets out of the backyard once a year.. comes back a few days later.. dirty and tired. ( he knows were he lives) I know he was eating from garbage pails and screwing ever female dog he could

Good boy ;)

Honestly, I prefer cats, lol. Less maintenance, and they are quiet, haha!

But, with the last dog I had, I thought he was AWESOME! Probably because he was a medium sized dog, and not a toy like previous dogs my mom had while I was a kid. Toy dogs don't seem to like short children much, and they were toy poodles who are supposed to be friendly, but maybe it was the toy aspect in them.

The last dog I had was a Norwegian Elkhound, and I'd really like another one like him. He was mellow and quiet most of the time. I guess small dogs are too noisy and hyper for me. I think Australian Shepherds are BEAUTIFUL, and I'm thinking of getting one in the near future. I've done my research on them, so I'm aware they are very active dogs that require a lot of exercise because they are herders/ working dogs. Good thing I like mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, etc. He'll make a good buddy to pal around with.

most recently lost favorites - shitzu, pekinese, and rat terrier.
Best for exercise, walking, throwing sticks, and good meaty dogs to squeeze, my 4 huskies. all now over Rainbow Bridge and broke my heart 7 times.... I now have a black cat. MOST of the time I prefer animals to people. animals have more common sense and love to give than the average Joe on the Street.

I had a Samoyed, he got mean and snapped at one of the kids. I busted a board over his head and gave him away.

Love my little rescue Pomeranian... so sweet, and is stuck to me like glue. smitten

No question in my mind; German Shepherds!
Raised them for several years and had a contract with the Air Force for my puppies long ago.
Second would be any of the snow dogs; Huskies, Malmutes, etc.
