* WERE IS THE UNITED STATES ?
** Canadians were among the first to help New Orleans during Katrina.
* U.S. helps fort McMurray / zero
* America helps Fort Mcurray / zero
* I used "Google" on the above, and the check other stations / ZIP
**
just below you... and if you remember correctly, y'all probably got to New Orleans before the US did... we have always been slow on everything, just depends how much media is involved to make the states look good on camera...
does anyone know how this started anyway? just curious, wondering if a meteorite might have....
** The area is surrounded by boreal forest/pines. The tree's seeds "activate" after being burned.
* Read about a meteorite a few days ago.
* As "Rains" (no pun intended)

pointed out "north was very dry last year and Alaska is already having forest fires, now"
* Dry warm winter, mixed with warm spring winds is a recipe for many forest fires this year.

* 11:40am. Today,
A convoy of evacuee vehicles is making a daunting drive along a hellish stretch of highway through Fort McMurray, accompanied by the RCMP on the ground and military helicopters in the air.
Approximately 8,000 evacuees were airlifted out of oil worker camps in the north on Thursday.
The RCMP vehicles are escorting 50 vehicles at a time southbound on Highway 63, with four Griffin helicopters following overhead to watch for threats. An estimated 1,500 vehicles are lined up to make the drive through the city, to about 20 kilometres south of it.
** Personally I am shocked at how organized it has been, up till now. I hope they can continue at this pace, as everyone is becoming exhausted and equipment is being overused.
** Tar Sands risks, and damage is being assessed. All production is stopped. From memory? I think that is one third of U.S. consumption. Processor's inventories will deplete mmm 1 week/2 weeks.
I guess U.S. will notice then
