A student at the University of Alberta, Dorian Banman, is raising concerns about a mandatory course in the education program called Aboriginal Educational Contexts Engagement. He thinks it reflects some of the more radical components of the Idle No More movement.

The student says that instruction in the course crosses the line in suggesting such things as “only white people can be racist” and that “being white makes a person naturally racist.”

Dorian has followed the appropriate steps by contacting university officials but feels that he hasn’t received an appropriate response.

He also feels that the course content violates the university’s Discrimination and Harassment Safe Disclosure and Human Rights policies.

White privilege courses aren’t just restricted to the University of Alberta. The University of Calgary hosts a page explaining “white privilege” and “whiteness” and schools across the United States are sending students to white privilege conferences where they offer course credits for attendance, and breakout sessions are designed for middle and high school students. The University of Michigan also now offers a required class on white privilege.

Leave it to the left to cry bigotry while using a bigoted concept. Considering this course is required material for future teachers, our kids will be sure to learn about all of the “privilege” held by those white guys who ended slavery and who fought and died in wars to preserve our rights and freedoms, right?

Like some of those 1970's -1980's, preachers that went on & on & on... Until the rest of the world glazed over & ignored them.

Then the racist prlcks should quit saying WHITE privilege. Many groups of people who happen to be white have faced "oppression"..... they just don't use it as a crutch to get through life.
In fact, most black folks don't use racism as a crutch....they work hard....just like other folks...and make a good life for themselves.
Its just the very vocal few that get heard.....probably because they have nothing better in life to do.....or they're looking to make an easy buck..... can't lose that cash cow, no sir.
