It's beyond common sense to think that banning ANY weapon will stop anyone hell bent on killing people. If making gun unavailable to law abiding people stopped mass shooting then there wouldn't be any in Europe. Banning guns wouldn't stop bombings either.

It's irrational to blame an inanimate object for what a person does with it....whether it's a vehicle, a gun or a pressure cooker.

I've got an older 50cal muzzle loader that uses caps, loose Pyrodex powder, round balls with a patch and has iron sights, it's fun but not nearly as effective as my 3 year old gun. The scope, 209 primer, black powder pellets and hollow point sabots make it a much more effective hunting gun, 100 yard shots are easily achieved. Plus being a brake action with a removable breech makes the newer gun much easier to clean which is the biggest drawback of black powder guns.
