Just crossing the wires that an attempted Military coup in Turkey is taking place. Turkey's Military says it has taken Power to protect law and order and to restore civil rights.
Other reports say coup was unsuccessful and that President Erodogan is safe.
Reports of explosions and gunfire and military jets flying over capital.
All flights have been canceled and the country is in state of emergency.

I guess the people of Turkey rose up against being pushed into Sharia law.

This is all very fluid as of this writing so what is really happening may change.
Because Turkey is a member of NATO, this could have very direct consequences for U.S.

i hope it works out where Erodogan gets gone...

ANKARA, Turkey (AP) — The Latest on what appears to be an attempted military coup in Turkey (all times local):

5:30 a.m.

NTV television is quoting the prosecutor's office in Ankara saying at least 42 people have been killed in "attacks" in the capital.

According to Prime Minister Binali Yildirim, the number of soldiers who were arrested in the coup plot has increased to 130.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan earlier said that the coup plot will fail.

Any help from the 1500 US air men ?

The plotters really screwed up. They should have secured the President before they launched the full Coup. They realized that hours after the Coup started and sent people to go arrest him, but he had already left the hotel for an undisclosed location.

For a bunch of top military leaders, this sure was one big screw up.
