My cats don't wear collars either.
I don't want them to, not even if they have so called safety clasps that open when it gets caught. I still feel it's too risky.
My cats' chips are under the skin of their neck/between shoulder blades.
I had that done when they got spayed so they didn't feel a thing of it.
Nevertheless I can't get a catflap as I have sliding doors with huge windows in 'em. Too expensive to have a catflap fitted in there and what if it goes wrong and the double glazing breaks? Would cost a fortune to have that sorted and I haven't got a fortune, hihi.
So getting up again and again it is.
because mine is a stray, just showed up and immediately fell in love with my dog.. I didn't chip her.. but cool you did.. I did manage to spay her tho.. then she got hit by a car a few years ago.. took her to the vet and they wanted $1200+ to fix her.. I asked the vet a lot of questions and decided to fix her myself.. and after a few months in "jail" inside my dogs crate.. she was healed.. (had the vet check her to be sure)..
same here.. patio doors are costly to get fitted and even though I CUD cut a hole in the wall from the deck inside, I do NOT want to wake to a skunk, a raccoon, a possom, or any other critter roaming around the house.. not that it's scary.. my worst fear would be the skunk and their smell..
