I believe that some outside force initiated the change of state that allowed the Universe to erupt.
I call that unknown force God.
The Big Bang Theory might try to explain what is and how it happened but the Why? remains unanswered.
That unknown Why is God.

Well I’m an atheist.
I don’t believe in a God.
I do believe that the soul doesn’t die after death though, but I don’t believe a God has anything to do with it.
If you are happy to believe in a God, whatever. If it helps you sleep better at night it’s ok with me.

A religion has to have 3 things that has to be 100 percent true.

past, present, future, there is only one that has all three.
the Christian bible.

Look on the news all this was foretold 2000 years ago, what is going on. enough said. It is just people do not know how to read the bible and interrupt it right.

just like reading a novel or play some people can understand it cause they love that, other can never understand it even though they read it cause their hearts are hard.

I talked to a lot of people in different religions yet they can not back it up in facts and actions. cause they don't know?

I have contemplated this question many times I have even so much as invited God to dinner when I was having a cook out..a no show.. my mom's friend said "well how do you know he wasn't there" I said because there was no one in the chair with a plate and a fork in his hand" so either there is no God or he is awfully rude..lol..Truth is none of us know.. all we know is what we believe and there is no real proof..When one considers the bible was written by men we will never know I suppose one's trust would have to be put in them..which makes me skeptical..because we all know just how far man can be trusted ..hell we couldn't even trust the pope..And even if God were to show how would one know it wasn't the devil in disguise..too much for my small human brain to figure out I think I'll just go back to contemplating things I may have a chance at solving and even those are debatable... spock

why would God help one sleep better at night?

doesn't the body become exhausted enough to fall asleep, even if you believe in God?

to the OP of this thread?

your question:
does God exist?

my answer:
YES, God does in fact exist!!

outside personal feelings, personal experiences, and personal idealisms, how would one prove God exists?

simple:
by taking HIS WORD and challenging it to confirm if what HE promised and prophesied has come TRUE!!

and if you do that, you will discover that out of the 400+ prophecies within the Holy Bible foretold, EVERYONE HAS [but the ones pertaining to the TRIBULATION - END TIMES][and they are finally coming TRUE] SPECIFICALLY HAPPENED AS IT WAS PROPHESIED.

you might state:
anything one can foretell today will eventually happen.

my reply:
yes, BUT IT HAPPENS IN SUBTLE WAYS WE MUST BE A DETECTIVE TO POINT IT OUT.

BUT GOD'S PROPHECIES HAVE BEEN SPECIFIC DOWN TO EVERY DETAIL THAT WAS WRITTEN AND RECORDED.

THIS IS A BIG DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A BOOK FORETELLING vs GOD'S HOLY WORD COMING 100% TRUE AFTER HE PROPHESIED IT!!

If you believe in a god, then he exists. If you do not believe in a god, then he doesn’t exist. So it depends who you ask.
This is a question where no Answer is right or wrong. Only what you yourself feel to be true counts here.
An atheist shouldn’t be forced to believe in a god, a theist shouldn’t be forced into not believing into a god.
Religion is personal.
I personally do not believe in a god. I’m happy with loving the people I care for around me. I don’t miss something in my life. And just like I’m not going to force someone into not believing into what they believe, I expect them to not force me to believe in what I do not believe in.

God either exists or does not exist.
If God exists and you believe in him your belief is true.
If he does not exist your belief is untrue.
What you believe has no bearing on the truth of the existence or non existence of God in reality.

God is not an objectivity.
It’s a subjectivity.
Religion is not a one-size-fits-all.
Some believe in a god, others don’t. You can’t force your believes on others.
Secularism exists since the 18th century. No reason to find out the wheel again.

I don't believe I mentioned anything about religion in my post.Nor did I mention anything about about my religious beliefs.I doubt if you can discern from my post whether I believe in God or not.

Your statements God is not an objectivity, (whatever that means) It's a subjectivity, imply God exists, since you cannot know anything about something that doesn't exist.God may exist in your mind just as Santa Claus exists in a childs mind but that subjective belief you have does not mean God exists anymore than the childs belief that Santa exists makes Santa real.

It does exist in many people's minds, and in writings, and art, but outside of those places there is no proof of actual existence in the real world.

Ok. Let's break out some scripture here. I encourage anyone to read the chapters and really the whole Bible! This is a teeny portion of scripture that answers this question.

David wrote in Psalms 14 and 19.

Psalm 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. .....

Psalm 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

Paul speaks of the creation around us being a testimony of the existence of God. To reject the magnificent accuracy of the order of nature and the universe is to willfully reject Him. Who can actually sit back and look at the things around in nature and say this just happened. Really? You are willfully blind.

There is a natural law by which everyone knows in their heart. You know it is wrong to kill someone. You know it is wrong steal from people. These are attributes God planted within us since we are made in his image. In the book of Romans Paul rips unbelievers apart with what he has to say in chapter 1 and 2. https://bibletruthpublishers.com/romans-1/king-james-version/lbc1047KJV

Romans 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

God gives us free will. God honors a person's rejection of Him, but does not delight in their condemnation. Remember this is the Almighty judging you with his Word, not me personally. I can try to help you see, but it is God who calls you to himself through Jesus the Messiah.

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

I hope this is a start for someone. Read the gospel of John to open your eyes of who Jesus is. Ask questions for help in making your decision. Accept the gospel, repent, and be baptized in water for your salvation which God so delights in! May God give you peace!

Bottom line it comes down to faith, but there is ample evidence of the existence of God.

If there is ample evidence for the existence of God then why doesn't everyone believe in God.If as you say the bottom line is that it comes down to faith then there isn't ample evidence. There may be circumstantial evidence which when coupled with faith will satisfy certain people.Even if one accepts that there is a God then whose version of God and what that God possibly requires of us does one accept.I notice that you are involved in several discussions with other believers and there seems to be more dissention than agreement about many things. One would think that after thousands of years of analysis that there would be more consensus among believers regarding the nuts and bolts and how the whole project fits together. It seems to me that many of your statements are very dogmatic and you provide very little evidence to support those statements.Whilst I accept that absence of evidence is not evidence of absence, lack of a better explanation is not evidence of the existence of God.
