So if Democrats are the 'Educated' Voters, then why of all people did they choose Hillary?
An education doesn't guarantee better decision making abilities.
Higher I.Q. doesn't guarantee better decision making abilities.
His solution is right n the mark!
Not really.
It's specious at best, moronic at worst.
"Stop labeling people racist, or bigots, throwing insults doesn't work anymore...talk to them, have a conversation with them!"
That's not really a solution, it's wishful thinking either having no clue as to human nature or possibly reality, or simply assuming your beliefs define reality for everyone else.
I mean look at the guy, he's ranting on a Youtube video.
Did he invite a bunch of people to have a conversation?
Nope.
Seems basic George Carlinesque "NIMBY." Not In My Backyard.
"You need to build more prisons!....just not in my backyard."
"You need to stop labeling and insulting and have a conversation!...but not me, I'm just going to rant on Youtube and tell you that you should do it."
then we need to dispel the idea that one party is only educated or not educated
The only thing that needs to be dispelled is the idea that a formal education somehow makes someone "smarter" or better informed and therefore the decisions made by those people are "better."
Look at the paradox of choice. Not all decisions need, or are helped by, more knowledge or information.
And in many cases a decision is hurt by more knowledge and information.
Different people choose a president as a means to fulfill different needs.
If we need need to dispel anything it's the idea that a formal education degree matters at all for highly personal decisions that fulfill a perceived subjective need.
subject under discussion however is condescending comments made by clinton voters with regard to trump voters, those comments dont magically vaporize just because the election is over
Most of them will, given time.
As most were made by people who just don't matter.
Or won't matter for very long.
Do you really go back to public message boards from the 90's to source the condescending comments made by Clinton voters in the 90's against Perot that you just can't forget?
I accept that a disconnect occurs between the people who are told 'their vote counts' and the electoral system
Only for people that don't really understand the system, or don't realize it's the "United States of America" and not "America, conveniently divided into randomly shaped states for no real reason or purpose" choosing to identify themselves as "Americans" and completely discounting the region they live in.
Since states exist, the electoral system is what makes your vote actually count.
California, Florida, Texas, and New York comprise approx. 1/3 of the nations population.
California itself has a population of approx. 40 million people.
Texas approx. 27 million people.
If you lived in most any other state your vote wouldn't matter at all, and every election would be decided by maybe the 5 most populous states in the country.
The electoral system helps equalize states representation in the election.
As a side and probably way off topic, what do you think is the "real" reason for Obama's pushing HUD mandates for building lower income and section 8 housing in more "affluent" neighborhoods?
You really think it's for diversity and economic benefits and racial lovey dovey altruism rather than a loophole for democrat gerrymandering?
Amazing things can happen when you shove a bunch of consistent democrat voters into districts that predominantly vote republican and thereby trigger the "winner take all" state electoral laws garnering all votes (or apportioned votes) towards a certain candidate.
But no, politicians never think in terms of how to do things like that.
They just worry about the people.
