The brilliant minds in the Silver Springs school system in Maryland decided it would be best to open the doors and let all the high school students go out on the streets to protest the Trump victory. I was under the impression that our children were to be watched over and accounted for from the 1st bell to the last. By doing this they endangered the lives of 100s of students under the age of 18. Thank God my kids were not subjected to this insane liberal schools way of thinking, but i hope their are some parents out their that will file a civil suit against this school system.people need to take responsibility for their actions, i know that is a new concept for liberal democrats, but you better start using the brain God gave you and pull your heads out of your *#% because you have no one to cover for your terrible decisions that have been made the past 8 years. And now we have a president that doesnt mind saying, Your Fired!

The walkout began this morning with  students from at least 5 high schools . Blair, Northwood, Wheaton, John F. Kennedy and Albert Einstein.

Well, that's just great. You're at work.. thinking you kid is in school.. safe and sound, then you come home to catch him/ her on T.V walking down the middle of a busy street.

Neither the parents, or the schools have taken responsibly.

But, when they are hauled off by police, for rioting, unlawful protest, blocking traffic, inciting a riot, RIOTING

These students, who don't vote, work, pay taxes, or contribute to society, will somehow be portrayed as child victims of discrimination and persecution.

High school kids will cut out of school for any reason.. that is a known fact. I would be very surprised in there was a " real" basis behind it other then a day off of school.

that being said

this took some organization ( 4 schools?), meaning the school system sure as hell heard about it and knew about it. Giving them more then enough time to prepare for it.. i.e security and police presence.

So, on one hand you have school systems that yell at the kids to stop running in the hallways ( because they don't want them to get hurt) and on the other hand basically turn the other cheek and tell them to " go play on the highway"

This is a bi product of being PC... PC strips people of.. common sense, which is very evident here.

School officials said the walkout was organized by students. They said no teachers were involved and they continued teaching as students walked out.

Nobody said it was organized by the teachers.

Did the school official say that the schools had no prior knowledge that this would happen, that rumors were swirling about this...no? really?

So, kids just get up from their chairs and walk out.. and the teachers don't even break stride.. they keep on teaching their class.. like nothing happened.

first off, these were teens

the choice was neglect those who stayed to learn to chase after those who will be punished for leaving

or continue to do their job teaching, and allow authorities to handle the punishment for those who left

and that was professional,, they aren't bodyguards or police,,,let the school handle skipping the way they always do

So be it.. some people have a problem with their kid being let to roam around on a major road.... some don't

Based on the info in the OP the teachers are responsible for opening some doors.


Kids chose to leave school.
That's not really calling the shots "in school."
Kids have been leaving school every day (except weekends, holidays, and summer for the most part), all across the nation, for years now.


The number of kids being home schooled has been significantly increasing over the past few years.
Even then, private or home school is the decision of the parents deciding what's best for their kids.
How is that less "gestapo?"


Wouldn't it be more "gestapo" if the teachers physically restrained the kids that decided they wanted to leave and tried to?
Barricaded the doors? Locked the kids in the classroom?
Threatened the kids beyond commensurate punishment to leaving to frighten them into staying?
I don't know what else a single teacher responsible for 15, 20, 30, 50 kids is supposed to do to keep kids that have decided to leave from leaving.

Other than that, school has been compulsory for a very long time, way before any "liberal gestapo" currently in place.
An argument could be made the entire system of school being compulsory is "gestapo."
And an argument could be made the "liberals" in control of the education system "gestapo" is less "gestapo" having done away with things like corporal punishment.

But they are responsible for trying to stop them from leaving the school in the first place. because they are under the care of the school system while they are there. For th most part... they are minors.

They made no attempt to do that.

If this was to happen at a grade school... would that also be acceptable?

Somehow because their are teenagers it is o.k.

It seems obvious somehow, since their parents are Clintonians and minorities that truntacy and uprising is exceptable.

Thank you Greeneyes, apparently Ciretom and Msharmony are under the impression that this was a planned walkout by these kids. It wasnt, it was pushed and sponserd by the faculty and school board to " show the world how detrimental a Trump Presidency would be to our education system. the school board was instrumental in inciting this walkout, but i will say our education system has been in decline since Obama was elected, in his mind its easier to make all our kids equal by dumbing down our kids instead of firing all these enept teachers and actually teaching hiring good teachers.One of the reasons these youngins act this way is because of a false sense of success, when you give a kid a trophy just for participating ,than theres no incentive to try harder. your Liberal PC attitudes have put this country in such turmoil that it will take years to reverse the damage you have done. but dont fret cause we have at least 4 years and the right administration to heal the destruction and damage that these brain dead policys have done to this once proud nation.

Please provide proof for this accusation, or admit that it's being made up by onlookers with an axe to grind.
