Good Afternoon my M2 Family, shots goes out to my loyal vocal avengers " Ms. Harmony", " LPDON"," GreenEyes148," CireTom" & many others who voices with me when I post. Okay lets talk about the atrocity that happen with 4 Black youth in Chicago lately in the papers & the national news. For those who don't know or follow the story, 4 young black youths 3 boys & 1 girl took it upon themselves to savagely beat a white disable man. Many have voiced what should be done to the 4 youths. Lord knows I have my own form of punishments to give them 4 but I'm just a host so America, how do feel about the youths. Are the victims if a broken home, lack of love, misguidance? Or Is what they did was straight criminal? senseless wrongs which should be convicted to the fullest? Or bring back the lynch mob just for there conviction punishments & hang em' high? So if the powers to be gave you the power to sentence & punish these young folks how would you sentence them? Lets talk, I love to hear from new as well as my loyal avengers on this topic. who knows maybe we learn something's about how we correct or convict this problem ! Later !
Sit & have a cup of my hot tea with a slice of controversy part 3!
Good Afternoon, for now on this will be apart of my postings which I will voice how I feel about a topic to bring life to these subjects. I guess you can say its my rant period....lol. Okay America, the 4 black youths who beat a white disable man to near death, well I got to be me, but if I was the judge, I would give them heavy prison sentences was well as disable sensitive courses which will be followed by community service & probation. See we want to correct the wrongs with the punishments so they can have a chance to rehabilitate themselves and we can be so fast to condemn them with out realistic punishments. Now if they wasn't remorseful then you get the maximum punishments as fit. But on the other hand, we need to make it clear as Americans we will not tolerate that behavior in this country. You want to beat & fight, join our military. Hell, you even get a salary & survival training in it.! We try to show compassion to our disable. we do not want misfits to hurt the ones who can't defend themselves. In stead of hurting the disable well why don't you fight to defend them. if you truly sorry for the crime, you willing to change, then start by apologizing to the family of the victim & hope they forgive you, move on & learn!
The 18-year-old victim, who is from a Chicago suburb, suffers from schizophrenia and attention-deficit disorder, authorities said.
The suspects are all are charged with two hate crimes — one because the young man was disabled and one because of race. They are also accused of kidnapping and battery, among other offenses.
The four were identified as Brittany Covington and Tesfaye Cooper, both of Chicago, and Jordan Hill, of suburban Carpentersville. All are 18. A fourth suspect was identified as Covington's 24-year-old sister, Tanishia Covington, also of Chicago.
it is sad that anyone is filled with such disregard for life,,,the kidnapping and battery are obvious
I am not sure, given the ages, all 18, that the hate crime would be my call, without all information about whether this was the reason for the targeting or whether it was for a payday from someone weaker in their peer group, as bullies often do
BUT, I will trust if the Feds have decided it was a hate crime, they have the information to support this was the motivation,,,
as to consequences, its not something I would want to decide, they certainly are a danger,,
whether at 18, its too late for them to turn around, is a question I am on the fence about
so I am not sure whether tossing them aside the remainder of their lives to jail or death is the answer,,,,,Im just not sure Eyeam truly
I am mostly saddened by what the disabled man went through and what was in his attackers hearts
I can accept that the 'system' is doing everything to seek justice for the victim,, which is their job. I accept whatever it is they determine should be done(short of the death penalty), just because I empathize with how tough the decision is
Those "kids" are definitely sick. They are suffering from the same disease symptoms a lot of our inner-city poor are afflicted with. Find out the cause of the disease and treat the disease not the symptoms.
Hey welcome have a seat, okay, now we introduced to each other I totally agree those kids was mischievous & cruel. Its no excuse for this type of behavior. please , I'm not buying its no parental guidance because I know a few people who was raised in a single parent home and still made great choices for themselves in spite of..... so Motown, you got my vote on that one!
Hey Mommy, that's right no matter the color, that mess was wrong. Imagine you disabled, in a wheelchair, 4 kids beat kidnap you and assault you , I guess everyone would hope the law will look past there age and do there job & convict. mental health among the kids to me mrs harmony if you reading this I love you girl but that's no excuse. wrong is wrong! what they did was totally wrong!
I agree , its just a shame we live in a time period where we don't take responsibility for our children anymore. If this was to happen in our generation, mom was no joke with corporate spankings. See the problem with parents today they allow the government to intervene in what we need to do as good parenting. then a lot of other parents is so so so blind in what they kids do. they think they baby could of never do anything like this. so kids grow up believing they get passes to act a fool. That's ludicrous to me.
Sit & Have A Hot Cup Of Tea & slice Of Controversy Part 4'
Okay here we go, parents out there, if you not taking the time to monitor your youth doings what the blank do you expect when they get into trouble? Stop being your baby best friend & lead your homes. Monitor there social media outlets, the awful music they listen too, the movies, the sexting, the planning to do illegal activity. its not snooping, its parenting. Now if you don't play your position, they get into trouble, take responsibility and correct it. I'm tell you, they just build more prisons to hold your so called " baby". Is this what you want, your youth being the victim of a system that don't give a damn about them? The state making money off there downfall. Trust me, the law is the law, its not going to change, and defiantly not going to be lenient to the mischief. So what I would like to happen is to convict these kids and lets give justice to the family to that poor victim.
when they first started equating spanking with abuse, and that it should be illegal, my mom used to not flinch at how much she felt it was worth going to jail for
especially with my brothers, she said the world(the authorities) would be MUCH harsher once they got out on their own, and they needed to learn the reality of those REAL consequences where no one that didn't love them was going to just try to 'understand' and they could very well lose their life over 'not listening'
both my parents gave us what we needed, whether discipline or food
I do think that is lacking in alot of homes, and its harder with more homes having all the adults out at work away from home so many hours and worn from work when they come back.
Hey you, you have a point, I got spanked as a child but I don't think it made me bitter or violent, but then again times was simpler. I'm no fan of spanking, I never laid a hand on my 2 teen sons even when they was young, but I did my parenting role, groundation was there punishment. The point I'm making is that however you punish your children you still need to discipline your young. I'm with you girl, but a lot of folks not on our page....keep posting mommy!
I agree with msharmony, I think the 4 were getting a thrill out of the feeling of superiority ., I don't really understand the whole hate crime thing. Does the victim feel any better if it's not a hate crime? I don't think these 4 should be tossed in jail for most of the rest of their lives, but I do think after no mor than 3 solid years in prison they should have to spend at least 10 years of mandatory volunteer work helping people with the same afflictions as their victim. With strict supervision. I think it would do more to make these young and stupid acting kids into a more productive adults than a long stint in jail.
I believe the hate crime designation is just a detail, like the differences between manslaughter or murder. The families of the deceased don't care what it was called, so long as justice is sought. The Justice system establishes the consequences on the details.
At this point, the Feds jump in if there is a suggestion that a crime is against someone merely for the 'group' they belong in.
I do think the system has the hard job of balancing punishment with rehabilitiation and too many young are thrown away as permanently disposable.
