Those against the wall...seeking to divide the country...oh, the irony!
Only in a pedantic sense.
Those for the wall would probably see a youtube video of a banker building a vault with one wall and then not getting any customers as "proof" that a wall would "work" in keeping people out.
What are we losing?
Potentially a lot of time, money, energy, and effort with no guarantee it will have a net positive effect.
Personally, I would rather see an expansion of the employment verification program.
Paid for by significantly increasing fines on any employers caught with illegal alien employees, and (since this is all wishful thinking) getting rid of pretty much every social welfare program and reducing the military budget after discontinuing pretty much all overseas operations and military bases.
But can't change the status quo.
Piggies need their pork projects.
So..build a wall! Yeah! That's it! It creates jobs and magically keeps those kangaroo people south of the border from being able to jump into the country as they're just not smart enough to get in any other way, and they'll all just stand on the other side looking at the wall as it's being built and once it is they'll say "darn it! now I can't get in! Oh well, back to my well paying job then, no more incentive to even try."
*imo it seems to me that building a wall is about like creating the TSA.
They don't really do anything, it's not effective, but people would feel less secure if they weren't there.
Nothing like a false sense of security.
Internet dating is based on it. "I need a picture to know who I'm talking to."
