Valentine's day... correct me if I'm wrong, but that is about having admirers who anonymously send you a nice card, message, gift.
It's not about having a partner or date. So why do you think people rent someone in?
Buy yourself a card or bonbons if you're awkward about not getting anything.
The anonymous sender can also be a friend btw, if not mistaken that's what Valentine's Day was originally about. But commercial thinking leaves out that part because they cannot make money based on that concept.

I saw this topic and the first thing to my mind was that the OP was either pimping out or wanting to be pimped out. It made me LOL.
If you just can't be alone and must have someone on Feb 14th, I'm sure if you look at the street corners in any metropolitan area you will find someone to "rent".
