I have now lived in Chesterfield England since August and I have only met one friend. Why is it so hard to find and make friends

i think to make friends, you need consistency. After all, when you are in school, you see the same people every day and talk. It's easier to make a connection. Older people may have to join clubs or just get out on a regular basis to meet people.

I have been to a couple of meet me group meetings in Nottingham but no luck. But yes I think your right that's the only way. Everything is done online nowadays which don't help. Going out to the pubs and clubs alone don't help. Makes me wonder if moving to Chesterfield from Essex was a big mistake
