Man's Search for Meaning is a 1946 book by Viktor Frankl chronicling his experiences as an Auschwitz concentration camp inmate during World War II, and describing his psychotherapeutic method, which involved identifying a purpose in life to feel positively about, and then immersively imagining that outcome.

I read this book two weeks ago it was a good read. It is so important to be positive and predict the outcome.think

Meaning of life? - Everybody has their own answer, what's rigt for one person is wrong for another. We all follow different way. What is common - each person has their own life lessons, which not everybody learns well :)))

Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.

In the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years.

Define a great life?

a great life and the meaning of life is...
two different things... I believe your asking ...
and as some has said many different views ...a great life ...
is you do not have...any responsibility ...for
anyone or anything ... you do as you like and
have the $ to do that for the rest of your life...

now the meaning of life is different ...
you are spiritually awaking by what is all around you ...
people ... the earth an the universe ...

and have a passion for them ... of love ...
to make sure they are taken care of ...
and that is having a relationship with them ...
and love does guide you ...if you let it ...
to find what it is that's your view ...
of this life and after life is ...
but you have loved and been loved ...
and this in your beginning or end ...
is all that matters ...
an know that is just my own opinion ...

LIFE = the condition that distinguishes animals and plants from inorganic matter, including the capacity for growth, reproduction, functional activity, and continual change preceding death.

Life is just Life, nothing more, nothing less.

The concept that life 'must' have meaning is a delusion. It can persist without meaning.

Human beings have complex brain functions. Our ability to grasp the passage of time gives us a different 'view' of life.
We recognize the past, present and future.
We gain wisdom from the past to make decisions in the present to affect a planned outcome in the future.

We place delusional values on experiences and conditions we encounter during the course of our lifetimes. We communicate those values to others and adopt others values to our own. We compare those values against others and judge our experiences against our own misconceptions of what we think our values should be, based on popular opinion.

We surround ourselves with concepts and objects that make us feel our lives are more than just the condition of being alive. We force meaning onto the mundane. The quality of our existence can be more important to us than life itself. Thus, we do things that are detrimental to the condition of life sometimes.

There is no meaning to life. There is meaning to our method of existence. There is meaning to the concepts and possessions we accumulate during our existence. There is meaning to how we effect others perceptions of our existence. Meaning, however, is a delusional concept based on relativity of the observer and constantly changes over time as conditions and perceptions change.

Life is a condition that either is or isn't. It requires no meaning to exist.

I see as you see

Seems we have evolved a need to create meaning

The Meaning of life buy PhD..wink..
To get from the beginning of it ..to the end of it.. with pissing off as few people as possible... finding happiness where you can... sharing your happiness with others.. falling in love as often as required... learning how to fall out of love graciously... always try to end on a good note feeling good about one another.. and that you have each learned a lesson in personal growth.. make babies.. but be good to those babies.. and the person you made the babies with.. are don't make babies at all... take time to enjoy your accomplishments..big or small.. be happy and supportive of the people around you when they do the same..
.. always each day.. try to be aware of The Human Condition...Get to know why you really do what you do.. it will help you better understand why other people do what they do.. try not to hate unless the other person really pushes you into it..lol... if you have to fight and you have no other choice.. hit the other person as hard as you can...frist.. don't go through life carrying ill-will towards anyone..
.. be happy with who you are because you will always be who you are...
And if you're not work on yourself...
.. achieve what you can don't beat yourself up about what you can't..
.. when you love love deeply and be able to do that and if you can't go away until you can.. don't let other people make decisions for you . Are you will become a puppet...makepeace.. with the fact that someday the ride is going to end... it just comes down to how you feel about it at the end...good or bad.. it's nobody else's choice but yours..

Nobody knows what the meaning of life is.. how could they.. nobody knows why we are here. We are at the top of the food chain, so we think we should be smart enough to know.. but we really don't

We are just " winging it" trying to be good people at heart and we hope that is enough

That should be "Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, and more money".
At least that is what Tom T. Hall says.

A great life is when you have lived a meaningful life which for me ......a long life's journey of experiencing the good and the bad sides of life . It is not just all pleasures , happiness and satisfaction but a totality of learning different things and discovering or finding the purpose of life that would make us a whole person receiving the gifts of purity of heart, love, patience, understanding, kindness, knowledge and wisdom. These are the gifts that we should find in our search for life's meaning. In all our hardships, pains and sufferings, we become more stronger and gain wisdom from all the trials and challenges of life. Don't just seek for pleasures to satisfy our own self but rather make an impact in the lives of others . it doesn't have to be just finding a partner in life but to be a part of any one's life and making a difference. That's a life worth living with a meaning.

The simplest answer to that question is happiness.
