Who is do you think are some of the best female singer/ songwriters?

My vote for best singer, lyricist and musician goes to Joni Mitchell her tunings and phrasing are so unique and I just love her voice when she was young.

There are so many Ann Wilson, Annie Lennox, Aretha Franklin, K.d. Lang

I'm not sure who the best female recording artists are. I'd probably put Bonnie Raitt on the list.

I can't rate the best because I have not sampled all the candidates.
