How is "Great" being measured?
To all the world as a whole?
To all the world per individually selected sections?
To its own past?
To its possible future?

Implying that America is the USA forgets about Mexico and Canada. Central America and South America not even considered. That's delusion by ignorance of the word.

To consider someone that claims they want to "Make America Great Again" for a position to represent the US nation is basing that consideration on someone that is deluded. Their proclamation defines their ignorance. It also defines those that take heed.

Agreed the US people have lost some of their national pride. Many values that were set forth by the founders of the nation have changed but people and nations change over time. Good and bad changes, just like individuals, nations adopt a personality.

If the people of the United States do not like the personality of their own nation, no one person is going to change anything without the will of the people. The USA is as it is because of the people that make up the nation. If one thinks a change is needed, take a hand in affecting that change.

what about in the 50's and 60's when one person in any family needed to work, could still have 2-3 kids, buy a new car and home, and still have money to save...
now, both parents have to work, can't afford a new car or home, kids not being raised by family, and no money to save...

there is not a time that was GREAT for everyone,, so lets take the good bits from all the different times and maintain or improve upon them

yes there was prejudice and still is but prejudice is a 2 way street

I don't see it in either of those two contexts. I think that what made our nation Great was that our people had pride in our nation. The people of the United States worked in unison to promote not only our own well-being but the well-being of the world as a whole.
What makes us great is our ability to offer assistance to those less fortunate both at home and on the world stage. We rally forth when we are aware of an injustice or catastrophic event. It is not the dollar amount, it is the mindset of the people that make up this nation.
In the past, we were the leaders in education and innovation. We are no longer leading, we are trailing.
Making the USA great 'again' means changing the mindset from the narcissistic, instant gratification of the person to a leading, educated and generous country as a whole. Returning to an "US" mental state rather than an "I" mental state as a whole.
