From McClatchy DC Bureau:

Science and technology students at the nation's historically black colleges could get a boost from President Donald Trump's executive order aimed at altering a visa program that brings highly skilled workers to the United States.

Leaders and advocates for historically black colleges and universities have been monitoring the immigration and jobs debate, telling the Trump administration and congressional lawmakers that so-called science, technology, engineering and math graduates from HBCU schools are readily available to fill high-tech jobs that are currently going to foreign workers.

we should be filling these jobs here with able bodied Americans.. of all ethnic groups. The only reason we are not is because of corp. greed... that's it.

They pay them cheaper wages then home grown folks.. there is no shortage of qualified workers here.. none at all.

Greed.. pure and simple

How many times have you dialed a customer service line and your talking from somebody in India.

It is the same in the UK but nobody ever says it!
Same goes for imports, if items could be produced in house cheaper then you can be sure that the fat cats would do it!

Exactly! That's just how they justify it.
I have listened to these CEOs doing just that. Everyone sign this immigration reform coalition petition so we can make more profit/get richer.
20 some million dollars a year. Kinda sounds like I'm jealous laugh

Here's the scope, I know because the company I work for does the same thing.. all large co.'s do.. just cruise thru silicone valley on any day. You tell me who's working there.

O.k., you bring em over on a work visa, you sponsor them and then pay them about 40% less they you would a American worker. ohh and btw.. you don't give them benefits.

When their visa is up, in about 6 months or so ( you can get extensions of up to a year), they go back and you get another one... simple.

Where are they from you say?.. China and India.

Then these folks go back to their home country with what they have learned.. and they proceed to knock off our stuff :)

So who F'd who ?

American corp. greed.. gotta love it :)

And btw .. work for the corp.. I don't own it

yeah! Try to get something corrected on a blueprint. Guys with a lot service went bye bye when they sourced an engineering firm in India and it's common to see three draftsman with the last name on one model. It has caused a lot of problems.

Here is the order. I see nothing exclusive to race. Not sure how this became a race issue

I've seen a lot of things get turned into racial issues, due to the people talking about them trying to use them to push an agenda.

Trump's move doesn't appear to have any racial component to it, but someone who wants to use this to try to fight against the charges of racism in Trump's appointees, as "proof" that Trump isn't racist at all. Someone else who wants to promote racism, can ignore the fact that a primarily black university decided to promote it's graduates as being ready to fill the void for all the common reasons ANY institution would do so, and claim that this is a plot to cater to "political correctness" or whatever.
