I was told long ago ...
that politicians where all crooks ...
and do not believe the regular news media ...
they may have gone in as wanting to help America ...
but became someone we could not trust later...
But the Opinions... I am looking for is ...
who do you believe in politics ...
that we can trust and why ...
MOST of the declarations that "all politicians are crooked" and "all mainstream media is untrustworthy" is just plain laziness. Someone wants to think of themselves as "clever," or "smarter than most" or some other variation of "inherently superior," so they (rather ironically) make an obviously FALSE statement, such as that ALL members of this or that group are defective in some way.
All it is is intellectual sloth. Figuring out what authorities to listen to, and how much of what they say to listen to, is a task that every single human on earth has the duty to learn to do, from the time they are very small. If they don't they will remain forever as small children, ever dependent on fads created by other people, for the guidance of their lives.
As for a question of how to deal with things like news reports, this is actually a part of what your public (and other) education is importantly about. First we learn to read, and then we try to learn to DISCERN what is actually said in what we read, and to become aware of the various things to be CAREFUL ABOUT when we read (or listen) to other people.
The basic process to follow, is to listen/watch/read what it said about an issue or event, then recognize that you are only getting the viewpoint of a SINGLE PERSON. The person who filed the original story, whatever that is. Or in the case of a politician, you are only getting a version of whatever they are talking about, that fits what they want you to decide.
So you need to do some homework of your own. Read other points of view, try to learn something in general about the entire subject being discussed, and then finally apply the lessons you've already learned in your own life, about what actually happens, versus what you wanted to have happen in your life.
