So is that information available to?
People can't wrap their heads around the concept that information is forever in some way shape or form.
Even what is written here has an electronic history.
Did you know that your new car can be shut down and disabled from a distance electronically? Its sold to you as theft protection but the DHS or NSA can not only track you, listen to you they can stop you and make your car unuseable.
Just think about what information can be gleaned from everything you must 'register' anywhere. It is a record that is you.
You pay a subscription to that car satellite radio. The car is registered to you and the on-board sat nav is linked to your car's computer signature that is linked to your car's VIN that is linked to your registration. It may not be you driving it but it is your 'official' roperty and ultimately your responsibility.
Your computer OS is now linked to you as well. Your ISP has a bill that is linked to your financial institution which requires (in the states) an proof of identity and a social security number which is linked to your national employment records based on your birth certification.
Your money has a strip in it and your credit cards have chips that can be read at a distance with the right scanners.
Your driver licence has a scan bar on it that is also remotely accessible.
All your services at you home have their usage tracked (for billing purposes) which is a history of your activity if they want to look. DVRs and Satellite TV systems have viewing histories logged.
They can even track your groceries bought from your purchases on your card.
Its sickening to realize just how much information they can get on you if they want.
In the states, They do put tracking sensors in the highways on new construction. I have worked on the equipment used to lay them down.
They say it is for 'future' automated systems and safety but your car computer has an RF signal that they are designed to read. An RF signal that is unique to your VIN by the onboard vehicle control module.
Facial recognition from traffic cams. Those cameras could one day have sensors that pick up your chip in your credit cards as well.
The point is made that if you have nothing to hide then what's the problem?
Privacy and Freedom.
Perhaps you don't have anything to hide. But, others around you may make you a target of interest just because you are near them. Like I said, once the data is gained they are never going to throw it away.
In the future they could watch neighborhoods and make changes that affect everyone there, even if you did nothing wrong. Police blocades, search and seizures, hidden surveilence and that isn't the worst that could happen. Think population controls. They have lethal and non-lethal devices that can incapacitate large groups at once. Sound, gas, light, vibration devices that can make you sick or passout. Plus many can be deployed without population detection. Then they can send in teams to your area to "check your well-being" and search your belongings in detail with photo or electronic documentation and be gone before you wake up.
The technology is already here. They already do it with NSA/DHS approval. They may be doing it secretly already. It hinges on policy changes under the guise of Homeland Security and Citizen Protection.
