Most religions are based on rewards and punishments.
The whole concept of Hell is a punishment.
The whole concept of Heaven is a reward.

You have "Free Will" as long as that "Will" is within the religious doctrine. The fact that there are rewards and punishments stipulated indicates that the will is certainly not free.

Its like 'Unconditional Love'
If there are things or feelings that are 'required', to have Unconditional Love, it is not unconditional.

I disagree - I do believe in free will but as pertains to right & wrong. I think if you're only doing the "right" thing because you're afraid of being punished or you want to be rewarded I think you're missing the point. Sort of like goodness & people's reaction to it is it's own reward. Just my humble opinion.

Free will is free will and consequences (whether we call them punishment or reward) are the natural result of action

If I keep driving when I see there is no road, that is free will because I could also CHOOSE to not keep driving

the consequences of one action will be different than the other and I have the FREE WILL to make choices that result in the consequences I seek

or to RISK choices in hopes they result in those consequences

but it is still a choice

well i think situation is further complicated in that some men take more than one wife, and some women marry more than once but it's our decisions we make not the god we planned it you may know the right person, but it may be the wrong time

there is no such a thing ''free will'' every action we take has repercussions on other ppl you yourself just gave examples of a free will it does not take a genius to know we have a free will did you choose to be born?? did you choose your intelligence level or brain shape?? do you have full control over external events that happen?? what makes you think you have control over the little things
