Is anyone doing the big BBQ/fireworks thing today?

Happy Birthday USofA!

We don't say Happy January1st! Or Marry December 25th. So why do we call Independence Day the 4th of July? Is it because we are bad spellers? Lazy? Or the date is more important than what it represents. Well whatever, Happy fireworks day to everybody!!!

Nope going to a ball game though. Happy Fourth!

or maybe because its so important to americans they want to MAKE sure the date is remembered,and its a bit more relevant to all types of americans than 'independence day' is since that independence didn't really apply to everyone at that time,,,,

unlike christmas which is more commercial and/or religious than nation based, as New years day is also mainly commercial

Yes , burgers , hot dogs, family and nieghbors. Today is the day when we should put politics and differences out the window and be thankful that we live in a country where we can be different . I think all of us can agree with that . Happy 4th of July!

We did that over the weekend for July 1st. Tonight, it's recuperating from that and having a peaceful birthday! Lol

But, I wish all the Americans a happy 4th! :)
