When the Apocalypse comes...we all meet at Toms house.
LOL
The question was about quick foods.
I have stores for the emergency SHTF thing that is not listed.
I could stop buying food right now and not be in a starvation scenario for about 6 months (as long as I have clean water).
I have enough empty containers for water for about 2 months so far.
I buy at least two when I shop and keep a running list to restock what I use.
I had a woman over for a dinner and movie one day and she asked me why I have so much of everything. My reply was "Just in Case"
The real reason is because when the X took everything I had nothing and I was in an emergency situation. I vowed to myself to be prepared. Do I need 8 sets of sheets (still in packages) for my bed, no but if something happens I have them.
I may not need 24 cans of baked beans but if I do, I have them. No they are not all the same flavor. 4 bottles of shampoo & matching conditioner, 4 bottles of bath soap plus a six pack of bars. Two of every cleaner including mops and brooms and buckets. Plus I am buying quality. I buy a lil at a time and it builds up because I keep buying. When I go grocery shopping I also pick up a wash cloth or bath towel, a candle, a pack of tee shirts or a pair of jeans. Lil by lil I build my stores.
The thing is, I have all this food but if someone comes over for supper - we go shopping. I have steaks, big thick t-bones and rib eyes but they are frozen solid in my deep freeze. Its just easier to go buy some than to thaw them out. But, they're there when I need them.
I even date everything and cycle thru the old stuff. I have thrown out foods and rebought them because I didn't eat them by the expiration dates.
If I meet someone that is starving, I give them a box of food and just go buy more.
My main problem is I am physically unable to eat very much at one time anymore and have little to no appetite from the meds I am on.
If I find someone for a relationship, I am sure there will be plenty of food and snackage available.
