individuals can profile,

people being paid to do a job cannot, especially if any of those they are profiling are some of the 'taxpayers' responsible for their checks,,,
if you not guilty of breaking the law than why should anyone care if your stopped for questioning . The topic of profiling is as absurd as the topic of how it's unfair to ask minorities to have a valid ID to vote. Makes no sense.


its only 'absurd' if you are not one of those being harassed,,,

the 'if you didnt do anything wrong' argument doesnt hold any more water than it does for illegal wiretapping,,

people expect to be treated with a certain 'respect' and level of decency, treating them 'suspicious' merely for their race or gender does not live up to that standard,,,
ever heard of license checks, so I guess anyone that looks Mexican should not be stopped. Do you feel harassed when you have to stop for a license check or your vehicle may be similar to a vehicle description and cause you to be pulled over. Do you get mad or are you glad the cops are doing their job to keep people safe?



there is also a far stretch between stopping anyone who looks mexican and not stopping anyone who looks mexican

the strawmans will keep coming though,,,,

and, as mentioned before, profiling based upon specific information on a specific crime, is different than profiling based upon potential crimes and criminal stereotypes,,,
and no one lives in a perfect world... the police have a job to do, and the dems are keeping them from by this ^^...
why would it bother you to be stopped by the police? are you doing something wrong? you dems want anarchy?

good grief

it bothers me because they are not PAID to disrupt my day, they are paid to enforce LAWS

it bothers me if I am stopped for being black and then a REAL reason has to be searched for later

it doesnt bother me if I KNOW I have violated some law that JUSTIFIES The stop, like speeding or driving erratic or having expired plates or something they can actually EXPLAIN to me when they disrupt my day,,,


I don't want anarchy, I want my rights to be respected , especially by public officials and servants

Your rights are being respected. But you have to understand that police enforcing the law is bigger than any one persons rights. It's about protecting the community as a whole and if someone feels they were treated unfairly because they were inconvienanced for 5 minutes than that's just to bad, get over yourselves

noone is tying the police's hands by expecting them to DO THEIR JOB

that is the point

doing their job should not mean they have the right to abuse authority, if the only way for them to do the job is by abusing the authority it gives them, they need a different job,,,and good riddance,,,

There's always you going to be some bad cops, no matter what... isn't it a bigger problem that their bosses allow it to happen, and do nothing after the fact? Dems blame the officers, but it's the higher ups that are the problem, get rid of them and the officers would behave differently... the chiefs, mayors, and council members do all the hiring and firing, and write the policies... so who is the bigger problem?


I do not really concern myself with who is 'bigger', they all should be accountable. yes, that includes 'higher ups'.

And this is a prime example of a Dems. Response.
Kick another can down the road cause everything is playing into your hands. Double standards.

Absolutely false.

He was jailed for REFUSING to obey lawful orders by his legal superiors.




He was obeying federal immigration laws. The "judge" was in violation of those immigration laws in his "ruling".

So the question is which should be obeyed:

*The judge's decision which violated established federal law?
*Enforce laws mandated by the federal government?

In a case like this the judge was legislating from the bench which he has no right to do. He was issuing a judgement based on his political views rather than established federal law.

Unfortunately this has become the norm, which undermines the legislative, executive and judicial branches of the federal government.

enforcing the law has NOTHING to do with harassing citizens, however badly you wish to convince yourself that it does...

there is no double standard


if a mother is abusing the child while the father looks on, there is no double standard in insisting the actual ABUSIVE parent be held accountable, and holding them accountable does nothing to PREVENT the parent who is allowing it to be held responsible AS WELL,,

there is no either/or or picking a side, if they should be held accountable HOLD them accountable, and don't nitpick over what order its done in,,,,
