Isn't it strange that you are arguing a negative?
If even in their inner circles they are negative and disrespectful it only keeps the negative thinking active.
The language and actions within, transfer to the society as a reinforcement of negative. The result is a constant perception of a need to defend.
Those statements I just wrote in this post have no reference to any specific group. Did you see it as a general statement or did you superimpose a group so you can take offense?
If so, it indicates a similar mentality to the intent of this OP.
Making a negative out of a neutral statement indicates there are issues within, that reinforce negative thinking.
umm, I dont know what post you read, but the one I responded to mentioned SPECIFICALLY mexicans and blacks. No superimposing was necessary.
Hi, just got around to checking the discussion on this.
The issue is with the mindset.
Its the same mindset that proclaims a picture of a gun is a threat. It is the ability of some people to make an issue out of a non-issue because their world exists in a negative mindset.
It involves what they do with the issue in their mind and how they perpetuate the negativity to the world around them.
For some reason (media overload) people have started thriving on negativity.
Spread the hate.
Spread intolerance.
Spread the issues.
The world has become reactive to negativity.
There are many people that carry around a lot of anger over things they never personally experienced.
Existing in a perpetual state of readiness to do battle over their perceived beliefs.
Its an aggressive stance that prohibits unity.
A viscous circle that gathers as it spins.
Negative mindset, negative actions, negative interpretations, negative mindset, negative actions, negative interpretations and on and on and on.
Its not as much what they wrote as it is the reason they felt they needed to write it. They saw a negative where no negative existed until they created it.
The modern world is in a constant state of offense just waiting for something to allow it to manifest. If a negative is expected all that is found will be negative.
As for blacks and slavery, the current generations should be proud of what they have accomplished and the advancements of equality but most choose to be angry over it and self-destruct thru the negative mindset. Their negativity takes hold with others in a negative mindset.
Unity can't happen because negative people can't accept unity. It involves letting go of their negativity and people can't imagine a world without it.
there are two seperate issues, people who ALwAYs see the negative or people who intentionally avoid aknowledging or seeing it by only finding the potential positive or blessing in every situation ...
going back to the slaves, they could have CHOSEN to be happy, of course, but SHOULD they have chosen that?
they could have CHOSEN to see the positive, for example with room and board. And remained in slavery because of their choice to intentionally avoid seeing anything negative.
but that is only an idealistic self defeating standard
indeed, that is merely assimilating to mistreatment for some ill conceived idea of staying 'positive'
one is not worth the other
the world is not ALL good or ALL Bad, why encourage people to pretend on either extreme
without communication, the good and the bad, things don't progress and often REGRESS
no, people need to speak up when something has bothered them and unity can be achieved when their voices are willing to be heard and acted upon,
not when their voices are encouraged to stay quiet accept for the purpose of embellishing reality to keep other people feeling comfortable and 'unified'
I agree that along with open communication comes an ease with which to live in one fantasy of conspiracy/paranoia, or the other fantasy of kumbaya everyone just be grateful and never offended and we will all be so happy together...
Balance is key. Say whats wrong , hopefully respectfully,
so that it can be acted upon, one way or another.
