Is there a way to completely erase your account? rather than simply deactivating it.

Not that I'm aware of. You won't show up to anyone, but the account is still there if you change your mind.

Once you deactivate no one can see your account they just see a message that you have deactivated..

And no that is the only way you can do it... site does not delete profiles.

But if you ever want to come back you can always reopen your account...

So before you deactivate just delete all your pictures and profile info in case you don't want to come back it is all removed.. Then if you do you can just add it all back later..
