Neither would I. I was in girl scouts too, and my sons were in boy scouts. I support it staying separate.

When I was in the girl scouts, we had an exchange weekend with the girl scouts in Canada, it was pretty cool. We took turns visiting each other, can't imagine that going over very well if it was coed.

They will reap the consequences of their actions for being so open minded... and when they catch a troop leader having a sleepover with the girls, there will be the usual outrage,
corrective action/abolishment of the idea, and go back to normal again.

Guess it makes a change from a sleep over with the boys

I highly doubt it. The way things are already in place.

I have no problem with Girls learning the same things that the boys are learning but they have their own programs for this. I guess greed and the mighty dollar wins again...

Yep my thoughts as well...

I feel they need to remain the way they are and just add the things in they want to do.. Always thought it was great for them to interact with others of the same sex...Boys need boys time and girls need girl time...

Ohh and there is not a darn thing wrong teaching a boy to sew as far as new badges..

Heck I made sure my son knew how to cook cause more and more women don't know how... Told him he better learn if he wanted to eat good.. Guarantee he can out cook any woman he has been with..

Can't kids be kids anymore?. boys play with boys and girls play with girls.

Actually they already said that it was okay for LGB to be troop leaders...

I guess it was better to merge boys and girls rather than set up other groups for the other genders that have been created by the big guy!

Membership is not compulsory.

People can choose whether or not they, or their kids, will be "boy scouts."

What's more important, the skills learned? Or the title of "boy scout" granted by the organization?

Can the skills be learned from alternative means?

Are there any towns out there with a giant "boy scouts" building that runs the town, threatening to turn off the water and electricity if people don't conform to their corporate beliefs by obtaining the title of "boy scout?"


It's a private organization with public title 36 government perks, like tax status and use of public lands and military bases.

Personally, I'd revoke that. Same with the girl scouts.

If the skills are so wonderful for the country, why aren't they taught at school, which is compulsory, and tax funded.

If they are taught at school, why are they somewhat subsidized again through a "nonprofit" organization.

If the title is so important, why hasn't it been licensed yet, like "Dr."

Crap or get of the pot, IMO. Public institution teaching skills necessary for the country, or private company/charity that offers to teach necessary skills like any community college or university or workshop or learning program or seminar at the Ramada with free cookies to show how you can earn from tax lien certificates hurry now seating is limited.

its sad that it goes to this extreme where ANY GROUP formed around a common experience or factor such as being a boy/girl, or having a certain type of illiness, is being subjected to this nonsense that they can no longer specialize based on ANYTHING other than the 'we are all the same' mantra
