Stephen Hawking died today
What an awesome Astrophysicist he was!
He made some amazing contributions to the science industry :microscope: throughout
his life time drinker
Has anyone seen the movie about him “The Theory of Everything” ? I haven’t
seen it yet, but want to someday

Sad loss, expected to only live 4-5 years in the early 60s.
Good sense of humour, shame he didn't get to fulfil his wish of going into space! :rocket:
Yes dee, the movie is well worth a watch. He was a bit of a lad when he was younger. try and find the one off sketch he did with monty pythons and professor Brian Cox,the meaning of life, he runs him over! There are several on u tube.

Yes this is such a great loss for the world, he was such a prolific scientist his contributions to technology has shaped the world as we know it today. I often wonder what it would have been like if he was a fully able body, probably the world would have been a much much better place today. For him that is quality time spent on earth and I guess he has achieved more than most able bodied people wouldn't achieve in two lifetime's. we celebrate Stephen Hawking, great man

In the Astrophysicist world no one was his equal. Such a loss for the world.

The last thing he was working on was a small, iPhone sized satellite they wanted to send to our closest star, proxima centauri...he devised a way to send it there in only 20 years, by deploying a parachute that they would hit with an earth based Lazer, making it go 1/3 the speed of light in about ten minutes of Lazer hits... All other satellites would take about 15-20 thousand years to get there...

I think we are very lucky to have lived in a time with such an amazing genius. His name sits alongside the best of the best, scientists & mathematicians to have ever lived.

Yes agree, his ashes are being laid to rest next to Sir Isaac Newton in Westminster Abbey. Says it all really.

This is the church where the funeral of Princess Diana was held.

Living like him must be very...very painful.
Even then he continued to make new benchmarks.
This is probably another angle to see him apart from science.

I also see how technology helped him to communicate and he contributed back to technology.

He will live forever!
