So, are you a better or a worse person or simply unchanged because of it?

Changed me for the better.
From hellraiser to a responsible father overnight.

Ok the hellraiser bit is a slight exaggeration.

Has being a parent changed your personality?

Certainly

So, are you a better or a worse person or simply unchanged because of it?

I really don't think of myself in those terms.
I am neither and both.
The responsibility of raising a family certainly changed me.
Plus, after they're grown and out of the house it changed me even further.

I do retain qualities I had before children and now I also retain qualities that I had while I was raising them.
I will always be a parent/grandparent, till I die. I will also always be me until I die.

For myself, call me old fashioned , but why should humans be any different to the flowers and the animals and the trees, so, holding my first born in my arms, I suddenly found the answer to the age old question, why do I exist........that knowledge should have made me a better person.....
