This thread is about the word "eon" and how it relates to the Bible.
This thread establishes a pattern of how you need to take 'select' words and make a point of 'proving' they are used incorrectly in Bibles.
Please feel free to ask any questions you might have.
Why is that so important to you?
Eon: noun
~ an indefinite and very long period of time, often a period exaggerated for humorous or rhetorical effect.
~ a unit of time equal to a billion years.
~ a major division of geological time, subdivided into eras.
Most people I have met do not think Eon means forever. They understand it means a very long time but it is not the longest reference of time.
A cosmological decade is a division of the lifetime of the cosmos. The divisions are logarithmic in size, with base 10. Each successive cosmological decade represents a ten-fold increase in the total age of the universe.
The history of the universe can be segmented into five eras:
Primordial
-50 to +5 CD
from the Planck time until universe becomes transparent to radiation
Stelliferous
6 to 14 CD
stars shine brightly (our current epoch is +10.1364)
Degenerate
15 to 37 CD
stars degenerate, get dimmer
Black Hole
38 to 99 CD
stars evaporate, galactic black holes evaporate
Dark Era
100 CD onward
lone protons and other particles get even farther and farther apart from each other
In 1976 the IAU resolved that the theoretical basis for its current (1952) standard of Ephemeris Time was non-relativistic, and that therefore, beginning in 1984, Ephemeris Time would be replaced by two relativistic timescales intended to constitute dynamical timescales: Terrestrial Dynamical Time (TDT) and Barycentric Dynamical Time (TDB). Difficulties were recognized, which led to these being in turn superseded in the 1990s by time scales Terrestrial Time (TT), Geocentric Coordinate Time GCT(TCG) and Barycentric Coordinate Time BCT(TCB). ~ wiki

There are many words in scripture that do not relate to how religion uses those words. There are many accepted concepts in religion that are not 'written' in scripture.
Religion relies on interpretation of scripture not adherence to words written.
"Nothing in Jurassic World is real. If these dinosaurs were exactly like their original DNA, they'd probably look a lot different." ~ Dr Wu, Jurassic World.
Blind faith believers select the passages of the Bible that reinforce their beliefs and ignore the ones that do not. They substitute meanings to make the scriptures fit their needs.
This is done at all levels of interpretation including the translations.
Plus it is all hinged on the presumption that the original scribe knew exactly what he was writing and used only the correct words while composing.
I'm curious about your reason for posting such threads?
The blind faith of religion requires that all scripture is important and interpretation of that scripture is key to the entire belief system.
By pointing out inaccuracies in some things are you not pointing out fallibility in the whole?
People rely on scripture being infallible.
People rely on interpretation of that scripture being infallible.
They base their lives on the concepts of Hell and Eon.
Forever and eternity have great importance to them.
These concepts are present in all the churches I have ever been to.
I don't see your threads like this as supporting religion, I see them as attacking religion.
So my question remains:
Why do you need to call out inaccuracies and why is that so important to you?
