Looks like an attempt to avoid answering the question. I was a working mom. My kids stayed with my mom, mother in law and daycare.
To say an unwed mom can't find childcare and the poor kids would be left home all alone is absurd.
From what I've seen, these single moms have no problem finding childcare to go clubing and then a night at a hotel. They manage to find enough free time to get pregnant again.

yes, I believe kids deserve to be taken care of (the physical stuff) AND provided for (the financial stuff). In lieu of the two parents designed to fill both roles, I think they should have support systems in place to help them do both, even if it is 'taxpayer'money until there is another way.

What if everyone feels this way and we all decide to sit home and wait on a check? Single dad's also. If having a child gives you everything you need, everyone would just have a baby.
