You do know that water color is not just for water.
Anything that is water based should work.
You might also experiment with a small amount of neutral paints like latex and enamel.
Pick up a small bottle of mod podge at a crafts store and experiment with that, you can get it in gloss or matte.
Another idea that I use with watercolor is using straws.
You lay a starting color.
Let it dry.
You lay a different color next to it and use different diameter straws to blow the paint into a design. I use three straws, a coffee stir, a standard straw and one of those big milkshake straws.
You get different effects by cutting the straws at different lengths and using opposing colors and extreme shades.
Sometimes I use a fine point sharpie to add shadows, gives it a 3d look.
The thing about art is that it is your own creativity that is expressed.
There really isn't a wrong way to do it.
I enjoy abstract art, the stranger the better.
Some people enjoy still life, others love scenery.
I have an art project started, its moving slow and I have been working on the same piece for around 6 months now and still not even close to finished. When I finally do finish it, I'll scan it and upload it so I can post it in this section.
It won't be better or worse than what you or anyone else creates, just different.
