Woman's car was being stolen by a man who got into it when she went into the gas station to pay.
How old were the kids?
Infants? She's leaving infant kids alone in the car, with the keys inside? Was it summer?
Famous last words in horror movies: "I'll be right back!" or "It'll just take one second!" and "they'll be fine!"
Are they old enough to walk around? And she left the keys in the car? I've read quite a few news articles where kids left in the car take it for a joy ride and get into accidents.
Her children were in the car....pulled a gun from the glovebox
So she leaves her kids in the car, with the keys, and a loaded gun in the glovebox...
I hope those kids are infants so didn't have access to the gun, but still she doesn't seem all that bright.
car was being stolen...(she) jumped into the passenger side...she shot him in the head.
Good for her. Although I do wonder if that's going to mess up her kids having witnessed it. And it's going to be a mess to clean.
Guns can come in handy
So can lojack, and not leaving your kids or keys in the car.
Some want stricter gun laws.
If I thought this woman in any way represented the decision making abilities of the vast majority of gun owners, even I might join the stricter gun law campaign.
Not sure if she will be on trial,
She has to be. It might be a short formality, or full blown.
She might have to go through a criminal trial formality, and then she might be sued by the deceased's family in civil court.
Actually it would be self defense.
Not necessarily.
"Self defense" isn't a magic word, legally speaking.
