Liberal actor Mark Duplass issued an apology to his fans on Thursday after sending them into a lather by calling conservative pundit Ben Shapiro a “genuine person” with good intentions.

In a now-deleted tweet, Duplass encouraged “fellow liberals” to follow Shapiro if they are interested in hearing perspective from the other side of the political aisle. Instead of listening to the actor’s advice, fans were outraged that he suggested leaving the liberal echo chamber. As a result, Duplass deleted the tweet and replaced it with an apology.

“So that tweet was a disaster on many levels. I want to be clear that I in no way endorse hatred, racism, homophobia, xenophobia, or any such form of intolerance,” Duplass wrote. “My goal has always been to spread unity, understanding and kindness.”

The actor said he will “make mistakes along the way” because he moves too quickly when excited about an idea, fails to properly research or doesn’t communicate properly.

“I’m really sorry. I now understand that I have to be more diligent and careful. I’m working on that,” Duplass wrote. “But, I do believe deeply in bi-partisan understanding and I will continue to do my best to promote peace and decency in the world right now.”

Marks now deleted tweet -
"If you are interested at all in 'crossing the aisle' you should consider following @BenShapiro. I don't agree with him on much but he's a genuine person who once helped me for no other reason than to be nice. He doesn't bend the truth. His intentions are good."

if one of the aforementioned can cite one example where Sharpiro said anything xenophobic,homophobic or even racist.

I dont know who this Mark Duplass is and I dont care, he is weak, pathetic and I hope no conservative watch any of his films

Mark was actually trying to be a good liberal here...the other libs started harassing him..

Then he is weak, because if he is easily intimated by his fellow libs then it shows how pathetic he is.

One of the things I admire about Sharpiro is, he stands by his convictions and beliefs and doesn't care if libs like or hate him, he doesn't care if his fellow conservatives likes or dislikes him, when one stands by their conviction and isn't easily swayed shows one character in my opinion.

I agree he's weak, he should have stood by his tweet...but I can give him a little credit for almost trying...
