I do know the definitions of the words, of course.
I do not know what it means to be an 'asset to the country' which is why I asked.
asset is anything useful or valuable. everyone has use and value. which is why I ask for clarification of what makes someone an asset 'to the country'
anyone participating in the economy (buying crap or paying taxes) is contributing something, everyone who is helping other americans (with or without pay) is contributing something
the only 'drain' that is ever discussed on this forum is the form of 'individual welfare' people sometimes need to get through, and even this has a lifetime cap of only a few years, so how many years of help makes someone no longer useful over a lifetime?
