The prisons currently hold 250,000 illegal aliens, MS.. these are prisons.. you get to prison by committing felonies which call for long sentences.. not for minor offenses... this is not the town jail county lock up... it is prison.

So your blanket " well, that's bad news for the slain woman and her family".. doesn't come close to addressing the core issue.
They should have never been here in the first place. This girl should still be alive.

and the link had no mention of the statistics. The reason I asked was because it claims to be FBI statistics. But I noticed there were a smaller number of people 'murdered' than there were "killed" during a "felony', which if I recall is also MURDER. So Im wondering why FBI in this case decided to not include felony murder (death during a felony) with the murder numbers.
but back to the issue. I am not for playing minority report and assuming what someone might do because they are here. I am not for scapegoating an entire population's presence because there are criminals in that population, I cant think of any demographic which doesnt.
I am for prosecuting people for their actual crimes retroactively, and proactively seeking to address the social, economic, political infrastructures that contribute to or inspire such crimes. I am for helping children, regardless of a political status or label, be safe and feel valued.
Those who are here, with some record of obstruction or offense, send them where they cannot harm anyone else. Those who are here and not doing either, ESPECIALLY KIDS, should have a 'plea deal' type of option just like in the criminal justice system, that has a more lenient repurcussion for the offense of no documentation or expired documentation.
All illegal immigrants are not the same in terms of their intent or social impact, and they should not be treated as such.
