Oh, and by the way, in New England, we would never say "dine and dash". but rather "chew and screw", "screw" being a term not only used for you-know-what, but also for "leaving rapidly".... Like when the cop comes across a bunch of kids partying in a parking lot, he will just put up his thumb and say "All a ya, screw"
We called it the same thing in NYC. We would go into a diner in two separate groups...eat up a storm then " pick a fight" with the other group. Shoving match takes place we push each other out the door..then we all would jump in the cars and split.
In the commotion the diner owner, workers and guests didn't know what was happening until we were peeling out of there
