President Donald Trump’s corporate tax cuts might not have trickled down to American workers in the way that he suggested they would.

But a new analysis of all Fortune 500 companies found only 4.3 percent of workers will receive a one-time bonus or wage increase tied to the business tax cuts, while businesses received nine times more in cuts than what they passed on to their workers, according to Americans for Tax Fairness, a political advocacy group devoted to tax reform. The analysis also found that companies spent 37 times as much on stock buybacks than they did on bonuses and increased wages for workers.

So they feed us this BS that the budget deficit is due to medicare spending and social security instead of placing the blame where it really belongs..on the backs of bad trade deals false narrative wars and handing our money out to other countries and supporting illegals..not to mention all that has been stolen by government officials..Give me a Break..there really is no debate here unless we are willing to believe the lies again... spock

I will say this ..You can give tax cuts in hopes that it will eventually benefit the workers..but what the companies do with that money is not up to Trump...

The fact is many of the people who claim that the tax cuts are not going back into building companies, thru new equipment and new hires have absolutely no knowledge of this because they are not business owners or people who make the purchasing/ hiring decisions.

All of equipment.. new hires, ect has a trickle down effect that reaches countless others.

As for companies keeping some of that tax break... what's wrong with that? It is used for operating or expansion purposes or anyway they want. After all, It all ends up in circulation.. just another thing the negative folks fail to realize.

But it is not their world.. so they can't possible know. They are going by some hand picked spreadsheet that fuels their argument.

Does anyone stop to think that what we read from anyone is PRINTED somewhere? What makes what one person decides to 'print' any more or less credible than the next?

research for yourselves, oh wait, that requires reading something someone printed .. so perhaps we should all just go on our own limited experiences and observations instead ...smh

and nothing in the world is 'free'. things dont materialize. but to look out for the WELFARE of citizens we have a budget (Article I, section 8 of the U. S. Constitution grants Congress the power to "lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts, and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common defense and general Welfare of the United States.")

and people can nitpick about it all day long, but its necessary and there is no bookkeeping that keeps one to one record of who donated what or for how long. So as long as citizens care about the future and understand how things work together, yes, taxes will partially contribute to the WELFARE that is involved in taking care of the most helpless amongst us , the kids., who will become the future.

Not all taxpayers drive, but taxes go to roads. Not all taxpayers support war or have anyone in the military, but taxes go to military. Not all taxpayers are seniors, not all taxpayers will get sick, but taxes go to healthcare. its not all about 'me' and only what impacts 'me', but what may someday be needed for some of 'us'.

We need to focus on lowering medical cost so it's affordable. More money isn't the answer. Price gouging is happening in the medical field.
My son went to the ER to get his arm popped back into place. $10,000 and he had to teach the Dr how to do it. Its a rip off.
We need to get rid of tarriffs on meds that we purchase.
Give nurses more control over meds and procedures. They do most of the work and spend the most time with the patient anyway.

Haven't you heard of nurse-practitioners? I laid my arm open a couple of years ago, I needed fourteen stitches in it. A nurse-practitioner did it, I never saw a doctor.

About 15 years ago, I got a cut lip from an accident. In that case, the nurse sorta flipped out and I did it myself in my doctor's office. She was afraid of how they came out, and she didn't like hurting me.

Since I personally knew the doctor, and we consider ourselves friends, I razzed him good about it. He at least waved a good part of the bill because of it, and we got a good laugh about it all.

I just scanned through this entire topic, and I notice one thing that no one has brought. So, I'd like to get all of your opinions on it.

Do you think our economic policies might focus too much on big business rather than building up small businesses?

I mean, think about it on all levels -- local, state, and federal. What builds the most stable economy? Don't policies that focus on big business "place all eggs in one basket", so to speak?

What happened to creating a more diversified economy in the wake of the Cold War and the reduction in defense contracts?

Does Trump's tax bill do anything to help promote small businesses, the businesses which actually build a more stable economy and tax base from the local level and up? Or are we just going to continue heading down the path of looking to big business to create all jobs, services, and tax revenues?

Yes, they are promoting small business.Judging by how busy I've become in the last two years, and from what my customers have been telling me. I've listened to dems bellyache about how trickle down economics doesn't work. If it isn't working for you, then you're not worth a hoot. People get wise to poor craftsmanship, loafers who do nothing at work. Come to work for me, shut your phone off. I didn't hire you to talk on your phone. A few customers have griped at me for not answering mine during the work day. But they buy my excuse, when I say my phone stays in my truck during working hours. You expect me to work, that's what I'm doing.

Small business thrives on the big ones. That I knew from when I first started working. I had Clark Lift truck employees passing my name around. For two years, that's who was hiring me. They were busy, and they made me busy.

If you run a small business, you have to be diligent,and prove to all of your customers that it was the right move to deal with you.

The way I see it (at risk of sounding like a commercial), experiences may vary from state to state. Obviously different state governments will have different policies which may impact how well small businesses are promoted.

For instance, CT is not very good at supporting small businesses anymore. More and more shops are closing because of the big box stores that towns and cities keep luring in with tax breaks. It's tough to find local pharmacies, bookstores, or hardware stores in many towns now because of it. Those aren't the only examples though. There are plenty more.
