What if Boston never had More Than A Feeling?

What if Madonna hadn't been a Material Girl?

What if Falco had never been Rocked by Amadeus?

*keep this going with artists and songs from the 80's.*

With the decline of disco in the early 1980s rap became a new form of expression. Rap arose from musical experimentation with rhyming, rhythmic speech. Rap was a departure from disco. Sherley Anne Williams refers to the development of rap as "anti-Disco" in style and means of reproduction. The early productions of Rap after Disco sought a more simplified manner of producing the tracks they were to sing over. ~ wiki

While rap existed in the 70s it gained a true following during the 80s.
If the 80s didn't happen, rap might not have become popular and disco might have survived. I remember pre80s rap but it wasn't called rap.
I also remember early 80s rap that had actual musical instrument accompaniment. Sounded more like 'songs' than today's rap. Like a hip hop rap.

By the mid-1980s, country music audiences were beginning to tire of country pop. Although some pop-country artists continued to record and release successful songs and albums, the genre in general was beginning to suffer. By 1985, a New York Times article declared country music "dead". However, by this time, several newcomers were working behind the scenes to reverse this perception. ~ wiki

Without the 80s, who knows what type of music would be popular today.

MTV started in the 80's. That had to change something for music. I think some bands/singers wouldn't have become as big because teens were always saying, "did you see that song on MTV?" I was a big radio listener in the 80's. It came down to "video killed the radio star".

To be a bit more specific, without the 2 live crew, where would we be with censorship and would we have some other great works of comedy?
